From the very beginning, Outsiders was founded on a simple but powerful idea: “create a staff that loves each other.” That principle has shaped everything we do — from the way we train volunteers to the way we disciple students. We know that when a team is united in Christ, committed to one another, and led by purpose, lives are transformed. Not just the lives of the campers we serve — but the lives of the leaders themselves.

That’s why we created Outsiders Academies — a training ground for young leaders who feel the call to grow, serve, and lead in Christian camp ministry. Whether you're someone who thrives guiding a cabin of kids through crazy games and late-night devotionals, or you're someone who feels most alive behind a guitar, a camera, or a soundboard, we believe there's a place for you to step into your gifts — and step into something bigger than yourself.

The CIT Academy (launched in 2018) and the Worship Academy (launching with its first class in 2026) were born out of our commitment to invest in the next generation — not just as helpers or volunteers, but as future leaders who will shape the culture and direction of camp for years to come. These academies aren’t just about developing skills. They’re about cultivating character, building Christlike community, and helping young people discover their identity and purpose in the Kingdom of God.
